Larry LuffmanSenior Pastor
Pastor Larry has been in ministry for over 11 years. Ministry started for him while he was in Bible College. Pastor Larry wanted to hit the ground running and get all the experience he could before graduating college in 2003. In 2004 he was hired on staff at a church in Daytona Beach, Florida where he was an assistant pastor for over six years. In September of 2010 Larry became the Senior Pastor at Freedom. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children. Pastor Larry enjoys golfing, reading, coffee, and spending quality time with his family.
Donnie HallAdministrator & Assistant to the Pastor
Donnie Hall is the Administrator and Assistant to the Pastor of Freedom and has been on staff full time since January of 2002. Donnie and his wife, Sandra, are charter members of Freedom and make their home in Bassett, Virginia. They are the proud parents of two grown daughters, Donna and Melanie and are also the proud grandparents of Caleb, Anaya, and Jake. Donnie is a graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Business Administration. Donnie is our Congregational Worship Leader and leads our Adult Choir as well. In his spare time, Donnie likes spending time with his family and traveling. Donnieís favorite Bible verse is Psalms 89:1-2.
Teia Mason is the secretary for Freedom and has served on staff here since March of 2010. She and her husband, Vernon are active in several ministries here at Freedom. They are the proud parents of four children; Wesley, Tamra, Hannah and Nathan and make their home in Martinsville. Her favorite hobbies are quilting and crafts in general. Her favorite book is the Bible and especially the book of Psalms. Teia loves serving on staff at Freedom and serving the people of the church who she considers as her family.
Sophia KellyStaff Director for Kingís Academy and Infant Care
To God be the glory, for the great things He hath done. Sophia Kelly is a woman after Godís own heart who loves her family and loves working with children. She is a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and a graduate of The University of Phoenix where she received her Associates Degree.
Sophia started her journey with working with children at First United Methodist Daycare in Martinsville. She also worked with special needs children from 2000 until 2005 with the Henry County School System. After moving to Greensboro, she again worked with special needs children in the Rockingham County School system as a teacherís aide.
Sophia decided that she wanted to open her own business. She eventually became the Director of Grace Childcare Network until it closed. It was now her time to run her own daycare. She opened her home to families affected by the daycare closing. She ran it successfully for four years. Sophia continues to attend training classes to become better at what she does.
Sophia is dedicated to the social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child and she builds sweet, loving relationships with our Kingís Academy families. She is currently serving as Staff Director for Kingís Academy and Infant Care. If you need to find her on campus, just listen for her daily singing of hymns. Youíll find her right away.
