Church Staff

Larry Luffman

Pastor Larry has been in ministry for over 11 years. Ministry started for him while he was in Bible College. Pastor Larry wanted to hit the ground running and get all the experience he could before graduating college in 2003. In 2004 he was hired on staff at a church in Daytona Beach, Florida where he was an assistant pastor for over six years. In September of 2010 Larry became the Senior Pastor at Freedom. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children. Pastor Larry enjoys golfing, reading, coffee, and spending quality time with his family.

Donnie Hall

Donnie Hall is the Administrator and Assistant to the Pastor of Freedom and has been on staff full time since January of 2002. Donnie and his wife, Sandra, are charter members of Freedom and make their home in Bassett, Virginia. They are the proud parents of two grown daughters, Donna and Melanie and are also the proud grandparents of Caleb and Anaya. Donnie is a graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Business Administration. Donnie is our Congregational Worship Leader and leads our Adult Choir as well. In his spare time, Donnie likes spending time with his family and traveling. Donnie’s favorite Bible verse is Psalms 89:1-2.

Support Staff

Teia Mason

Teia Mason is the secretary for Freedom and has served on staff here since March of 2010. She and her husband, Vernon are active in several ministries here at Freedom. They are the proud parents of four children; Wesley, Tamra, Hannah and Nathan and make their home in Martinsville. Her favorite hobbies are quilting and crafts in general. Her favorite book is the Bible and especially the book of Psalms. Teia loves serving on staff at Freedom and serving the people of the church who she considers as her family.

School Staff

Crystal Purvis

Crystal Purvis is a licensed Pre-K through 6th grade teacher and has a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters in Education. She has worked with children for many years and really has a passion for teaching. She enjoys watching movies, scrap-booking, reading books, and spending time with her husband, Joseph. Her life verse for the past few years has been Jeremiah 29:11 because God always has a plan and it is always awesome.

Missy Prillaman

Missy Prillaman s our K3 teacher at King's Academy. She has worked at the academy for 6 years in various capacities. She and her husband, Kenny live in Martinsville, Virginia with their two daughters Alysha and Candice. Missy and her family attend Freedom.

Angel Harmon

Angel Harmon is our newest addition to King's Academy. She is a teacher in our K4 class and also works in our after school care program. She has been employed here for a little less than a year. She and her husband, John reside in Ridgeway, Virginia and have three grown children. Angel attends Freedom and works in our Children's Ministries.

Tamra Mason

Tamra Mason is a teacher's aide at King's Academy in the K3 class and also works in our after school care program. She has been employed here for two years. She is active in the Youth Ministry of Freedom and also sings in the Choir and Praise Team. Tamra makes her home in Martinsville, Virginia.

Amber Thacker

Amber Thacker is a Teacherıs Aide at Kingıs Academy and makes her home in Ridgeway, Virginia along with her husband Thomas and her son Aaden. Amber and her family attend Freedom Baptist Church and she is currently pursuing a psychology degree from the University of Phoenix. Amber loves working with children.

Shirley Fink

Shirley Fink is a Teacherıs Aide at Kingıs Academy with her primary responsibility being the ³lunch lady.² Shirley helps to coordinate and prepare the childrenıs lunches and snacks and also assists in the classrooms as well. Shirley faithfully attends Freedom Baptist Church and makes her home in Martinsville, Virginia.
