Getting to know the Luffman family
Melissa and I grew up in the small town called Danville Virginia. We were high school sweethearts and got married at the young age of twenty. We had been married for eight years when we moved to Florida in 1999 to attend Bible College to prepare us for ministry in my desire to pastor a church. After eleven years of not being able to have children we decided to adopt. In 2002 we traveled to Peru only to be denied and told to return home. We were heart broken and devastated but then one month later, Melissa got pregnant with Abigail! What a surprise and a blessing!

As you can see, our family has grown a little since then. After spending time with the children of Peru and our heart still desired to have more children, especially from Peru, we started the process again and left in August of 2008 to adopt our twins, Peyton and Leah. We spent twenty two days there and our desire to still have more children was finally met. We are so thankful for what Christ has done in our family.

My wife and I have been in ministry for over 11 years. Ministry started for us while I was in Bible College. I wanted to hit the ground running and get all the experience I could before graduating in 2003. In 2004 I was hired on staff at a church in Daytona Beach Florida where I was an assistant pastor for over six years. In September of 2010 I became the pastor of Freedom. What a joy it is to be here and I guess you could say that “I’ve come home.” This truly is how I feel about Freedom – “It is home!”

As the pastor of this church, I know I have been given an incredible responsibility to preach and teach God's Word, pray for our people, oversee all aspects of the church, serve as an example, and seek to spiritually protect the flock of people God has entrusted to me. I take my responsibility very seriously, and desire to serve God with the utmost integrity and honor. I truly love our church family.

Here at Freedom, we are growing and changing as Christ lives His victorious life through us. We desire to be a lighthouse in this community, and to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and needy world. We truly desire to be a church for others! I am available after each of our services to meet guests. I look forward to meeting you real soon!

Again, thank you for taking the time to visit us on the web.
